Religion - There are two dieties, the Mother and the Father. There are temples to them scattered around Kirzlar. The religious order is called Children of the Parents. They staff the temples and provide spiritual support to the population of Kirzlar.
Magic- There are four types of magic: Elemental, Natural, Healing, & Fortelling. The magics are housed in different places around Kirzlar. The Fortress of Elements and Nature's Keep are ruled over by men. While the Spire of Healing and the Tower of Seers are ruled over by women. There is a general mistrust between the the different factions, although no open animosities have ever been seen. To form a tighter bond the rulers often married until it has now become tradition to do so. Now the marriages are inconviences and do nothing to further the bonds; however the marriages do still occur. The Master of Elements marries the Mistress of Healing. While the Master of Nature marries the Mistress of Seers.
Not everyone is a magic weilder but those that are capable are tested and sent to their respective learning centers at age 13.
It is believed that the Father rules over Elemental and Natural while the Mother rules over Healing and Foretelling.
Elemental - Can manipulate Fire, Water and Air. Cannot manipulate Earth. Can conjure elements into being with advanced skill. Noviates are thought to work with existing elements first.
Natural - Can manipulate Earth. Cannot manipulate any elements unless they come from Earth (ie streams). Such elemental control is very very tenuous.
Healing - Deals with the healing arts. Death cannot be healed. Also such afflictions as blindness and deafness cannot be healed unless they are caught almost immediatley after injury.
Foretelling - Not an exact magic. Foretold things are often hidden in symbols and mystery. Most of a Noviate's training is learning to decipher what they see. It is strongly discouraged to tell someone of another's future.
Levels of Training - Noviate 1 - extreme basics
Noviate 2 - advanced basics
Intermiadate - mastered basics/begins
advanced training
Apprentice - advance training continues
Weilder - full abilities
Master/Mistress - head of a faction
To become a Weilder, each person must be tested. Present at the test are the apprentice's teachers and the Master/Mistress. Apprentices must show full control over their abilities. Each Apprentice may petition to be tested only twice. If they fail both times they are asked to leave their learning centers. To mark them as unfit, each failed student is given a tattoo on their right inner forearm.
