The current year is 1211. Up until 200 years ago Kirzlar was plauged by small wars between the kingdoms. Then tensions escalated into an all out continent wide war, due in large part to border disputes. The Council of Dragons broke their silence and defined the borders as they had originally been set. The dragons have never forgotten or forgiven the fact that they had to settle the disputes of the "puny humans".
A tenous peace settled over Kirzlar and slowly the kingdoms began to work together. Magics flourished and it was an age of wealth and learning. But as they say, all good things must come to an end....
