Rhyannon was born to a life of wealth and privelge as the eldest child of King Andrev and Queen Nialla of Bordeleau. She has a twin sister, Rhylee and a brother, Crindor. Childhood was a happy time for the family at their seaside castle, Vudemer. Upon the twins' 13th birthday they were tested for magicla ability. While Rhylee passed and was soon sent off to learn her craft, Rhyannon was found lacking. However her disappointment was short lived because her father officially proclaimed her his heir. Rhyannon found it hard being separated from Rhylee and they sent letters to each other often. Two years later, on his 13th birthday, Crindor left to begin is squiring . With the loss of her other sibling, Rhyannon became restless. She would often sneak away from her lessons to explore the caves along the shore. It was during one such trip that she met Azolo, an adolescent dragon (he was 150 when they met). Over the next few years they struck up a curious friendship. They would often spend hours talking and trying to stump each other with riddles. On her 21st birthday a great festival was held at Vudemer. During the parade a cat spooked King Andrev's horse and caused it to rear, throwing him. He sustained a horrible head injury and dies five days later. When Rhyannon learned she had become Queen she escaped to Azolo's cave. As she cried, curled against his wing he vowed to help her rule, albeit from the shadows.
